Mollusk Discovery

Flamboyant Cuttlefish(Metasepia pfefferi)

Characteristics:
"head-foot" which basically means that its just the head and its tentacles
Their blood is green
Swim with jet propulsion
Have a parrot like beak in center of tentacles
Have larger well-developed eyes and excellent vision especially in low light conditions
Breed in shallow water
The Cuttlefish is one of the most intelligent invertebrates in the world
Can live in depths up to 600 meters
"W" shaped eyes
Another feature of the Cuttlefish is its skin. The Cuttlefish is good at having camouflage and has unique skin cells that can change pigment to create a lot of cool colors including green, blue and yellow. With this ability the Cuttlefish can even influence the color of light reflected from its skin and send signals to other Cuttlefish.

  2. So i really like your picture! But i feel like you are just sucking up to Mrs.Richardson because that's her favorite fish ! But it's pretty amazing that they can change there skin like that. Can you learn and then teach me?? please o' please???? (:
